Our mission is to combat fraud and scam and promote fair market practices in the industry of the rental of passenger vehicles with driver in Europe. By fighting against fraud and scam we also contribute to making international travel a more secure undertaking, thus, increasing the attractiveness of our industry for the end consumers.
Globalisation has opened new development prospects in our industry as more and more people have become interested in international travel. Full Internet penetration is another important factor, which has impacted the transport sector as a number of consumers now venture to book their travel directly with the providers via the Internet.
However, these developments have also attracted all sorts of fraudsters, impostors and criminals seeking to take advantage of this situation. They pretend to be well established carriers or reputed intermediaries and seek to defraud or simply steal from the most vulnerable customers. Small size travel agencies and individuals booking directly on the Internet are their most frequent victims. However, larger companies are also not immune from becoming prey to such criminals.
To carry out our mission we conduct investigations into such criminal activities, identify the criminals behind them and seek to shut down their criminal business by informing all potential consumers and counterparts (our publicly available investigations and also our blacklist are one of such tools) and filing complaints with law enforcement agencies and various providers inadvertently assisting the offenders.
